Fecal Parasitology - Biosynex Ampliquick
Rapid and complete diagnosis of intestinal parasites with multiplex PCR
Biosynex AMPLIQUICK Fecal Parasitology is an advanced diagnostic solution validated CE-IVD and ready to use for the molecular identification of 20 intestinal parasites through a single run of real-time PCR. Ideal for the analysis of fecal samples from patients with acute diarrhea or suspected intestinal infection, this kit combines speed, sensitivity and reliability.
Main features
- Highly sensitive multiplex PCR
Simultaneously detects up to 10 helminths and 10 protozoa from a single fecal sample - Open and flexible system
Compatible with nucleic acid extractors and thermal cyclers commonly used in laboratories. - Rapid and optimized pre-treatment
The pre-treatment step takes less than 10 minutes and uses a bead-beating system to increase sensitivity, improving DNA extraction from all parasitic forms present. - Integrated internal quality controls
Includes internal exogenous amplification control and procedural control to ensure the reliability of the result. - Maximum analytical efficiency
From the same pre-treatment tube it is also possible to proceed with the analysis of intestinal viruses and bacteria with the AMPLIQUICK Fecal Virology and AMPLIQUICK Fecal Bacteriology kits.
The benefits of AMPLIQUICK Fecal Parasitology
Diagnosis of intestinal infections cannot be based only on clinical symptoms, often overlapping between viruses, bacteria and parasites. With Biosynex AMPLIQUICK Fecal Parasitology, laboratories have a powerful and reliable tool for rapid and accurate differential diagnosis, reducing response times and optimizing workflow.
Clinical applications
- Acute or persistent diarrhea
- Epidemiological investigations
- Immunocompromised patients
- Travelers returning from endemic areas

Il kit BIOSYNEX AMPLIQUICK® Fecal Pretreatment
It is the pretreatment kit dedicated to the preparation of fecal samples for the molecular analysis of intestinal parasites by real-time PCR. The system combines the mechanical action of the beads with a specific buffer for the effective lysis of all parasitic forms (eggs, cysts, trophozoites, larvae), ensuring an optimal DNA yield and a significant reduction of inhibitors present in the sample.

BIOSYNEX AMPLIQUICK® FECAL PARASITOLOGY kit offers a complete solution for the simultaneous detection of 20 intestinal parasites (10 helminths and 10 protozoa) by real-time multiplex PCR. Thanks to automated mechanical pretreatment and internal quality controls, the kit ensures rapid and reliable results, improving diagnostic sensitivity and reducing analysis time.
The diagnostic process is divided into three main phases:
- Sample pretreatment: using the BIOSYNEX AMPLIQUICK® Fecal Pretreatment kit, the fecal sample is lysed and mechanically ground to release the parasite DNA.
- DNA extraction: DNA is extracted from the treated sample using compatible open extraction systems.
- Gene amplification: BIOSYNEX AMPLIQUICK® Helminths and Protozoans kits allow the amplification and specific detection of parasite genes by real-time PCR.
The test requires fecal samples. A small amount of sample, collected with calibrated spoons provided in the pre-treatment kit, is sufficient to ensure standardization of the process and reliable results.
The following are required to perform the test:
- Mechanical grinding system: for sample pretreatment.
- DNA extraction system: compatible with the kit protocol.
- Real-time thermal cycler: for amplification and detection of parasite genes.
The kit is designed to be compatible with open systems, facilitating integration into existing laboratories.
The kit integrates effectively into diagnostic pathways for patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, allowing a rapid differential diagnosis between parasitic, bacterial and viral infections. Thanks to its modularity, it can be used in combination with other kits of the AMPLIQUICK® line for a complete analysis of gastrointestinal infections.
Multiplex PCR allows the simultaneous detection of multiple genetic targets in a single reaction, increasing efficiency and reducing time and costs per test. In the context of fecal parasitology, this technology allows rapid and accurate identification of a wide range of intestinal parasites, improving clinical management of the patient.
