AVITI™, the innovative sequencing system developed by Element Biosciences, based on ABC sequencing chemistry, utilizes Rolling Circle Amplification (RCA).
The fragment to be sequenced, initially linear, circularizes on the flow cell. Thousands of copies are then generated from this template, each originating from the original fragment, not as copies of copies (clonal copies). This innovation ensures that if an error is introduced during PCR, it is purely random and does not propagate across all copies, drastically improving data quality.
